Above Ground Studio is a collaboration between Matt and Seraphina. We work mainly between Margate and London, but we also work further afield within the UK and beyond.

With a focus on creating beautiful, high-quality images, we strive to make it simple and enjoyable for you to commission photography.

About Us

We first met while studying photography at Falmouth University and both moved to London shortly after graduating. We gained experience working in commercial studios and with photographers such as Rankin and Nadav Kander, before going on to work as photographers within the arts and cultural heritage sector. We have over 20 years combined experience as photographers, with 16 of those spent working closely with galleries and artists.

In May 2023, we decided to team up and create Above Ground Studio. The name arose because many of the studios we’ve worked in have either had no windows or been located in basements (or both)!
